The following are the rules and regulations that everyone will need to adhere too.
- Two person teams minimum/maximum only-per boat. You may have ride alongs and they may fish, but they may not assist in any way to aid in the catch of any fish! If it is proven that they have, team disqualification for that contest will result! This includes, netting, driving, running trolling motor, fixing lines, pulling anchor, etc!!!!
- You may fish one team member per boat if no substitution is available.
- Two substitutions per team on the same night is not allowed---1 team member must fish.
- Absolutely no underwater video camera aids of any kind can be used during a contest.
- In case of threatening weather, cancellations will be decided by Bob Zabel by 1:00 p.m. and posted on the web page the day of the contest. On the news page at www.swimfishingleague.com . If NO POST PLAN ON FISHING!
- If there is a question on whether to start the tournament or not, due to questionable weather at start time, there will be a vote at the ramp before the 6:00 PM start time.
- We will fish in the rain as long as weather is not severe.
- Once the tournament is started, the tournament will finish.
- If we cancel a tournament, we will make it up on Sept. 23, 2009. There will be only 1 make up tournament date. If more than one canceled, we will only have the ONE date, no more. For the make up date, whatever lake, species, and limit is canceled; will be where we fish and what is fished for!
- No pre-fishing allowed the day of the tournament. This means no marking fish, marking spots with buoys, getting there early to run the lake and use your depth finder, etc.
- Start times will be at 6:00 PM Sharp. Come early so you can put your boat in and be ready for a shotgun start at 6:00 PM SHARP. We will not wait to begin contest if someone is late. If all are ready earlier than 6:00 PM we will start earlier.
- All boats must be within 300 feet of landing at start time.
- Contests end at scheduled end time SHARP (refer to schedule for all end times). Meaning everyone will be back at the landing at end time. This means you must be at the landing and idling, waiting in line to load, or to drop your partner off to get trailer. You may call someone from another boat to pick up your fish and 1 team member to come back with your fish to be on time and not be docked.
- Late comers for tournament end - will be docked 1 lb. per 5 minutes of being late and not be able to weigh-in at all if more than 10 minutes late, NO exceptions.
- Weigh-in will immediately follow tournament end after boats are loaded. Please be courteous and load boats quickly, so weigh-in can be done in the light and it does not get to late.
- Maximum number of fish per weigh-in per team: REFER TO THE SCHEDULE FOR MAXIMUM NUMBER OF FISH
REFER TO THE SCHEDULE FOR MAXIMUM NUMBER OF FISH
- Minimum League length per species:
- Panfish - No minimum length
- Bass - 12" minimum.
- Northern - 20" minimum and only 1 over 30" is allowed per person.
- Walleye/Sauger - 12" minimum, don't forget Waconia has a 16" minimum and only 1 over 20" is allowed per person.
- Muskies - 40" minimum - only 1 per person. Muskie are not eligible for any contests except "Anything" contests. Muskie must be within legal state guidelines. They can either be verified by length by another team and immediately released, or a very good picture can be taken with the fish along a tape. ** Please note before each Muskie eligible tournament I will send an e-mail regarding an article that needs to be included in the picture, to avoid any fraudulent claims for weigh in. If the picture is not clear enough and there is any question as to the accurate measurement, it will not be admitted. Confirmation by another team is the best way to have it count. If fish is to be verified by a picture, the weigh team and last place points team in attendance will make the call on an acceptable picture and verify length. The following calculations will be used for weight for Muskie: 40 - 45" = 18 lbs., 45.1 - 50" = 25 lbs. and 50.1" + = 35 lbs.
- Smallmouth Bass are only Catch and Release only after September 8th.
- All Lake and State length or slot limits will be observed. If not, the team breaking the state regulations will be disqualified for that tournament, and won't receive any points, including show points. If state regulations are drastically broken; the team breaking the rules may be voted out of the league. We are a league to promote the sport of fishing not to break the State and Federal laws to win a fishing contest
- Any fish that is brought to the weigh in that is under minimum length will disqualify that teams points for that tournament (except for show points). If you have a fish that is questionable do not bring it to the weigh-in.
- Tails will be pinched and mouths closed for measuring total length of all fish.
- Official weigh team will make final decisions on length and weight.
- Fish will be weighed to the nearest 1/10th of a pound.
